Also, remember you can preorder sketches to pick up at Stumptown now.
Set in the late 6th Century, the new series (from writer Cullen Bunn and Oni Press) blends vikings, witchcraft, and undead monsters into a deliciously violent and horrifying mystery. Copies of Helheim #1 will be available for purchase during the opening reception on Thursday, April 4th from 6pm – 10pm.
If you’re visiting from out of town next month (and with the Stumptown Comics Fest coming in a few weeks, why wouldn’t you be?) the exhibit will also be part of the Festival’s Art Gallery Tours on Saturday, April 27th & Sunday, April 28th. The Fest offers limited-seating guided tours of several Portland galleries, all featuring exhibits by illustrators and comic book artists. And they’re free to Fest attendees!
In the meantime, we’re excited to join Joëlle for the show’s opening on April 4th. Hope to see you there!
[Nitty gritty details: The Art of "Helheim" will be on display throughout the month of April, with gallery hours on Thursdays from 3pm-7pm, Saturdays from 11am-5pm, and by appointment. The exhibit will close at the end of the tours on Sunday, April 28th. The Sequential Art Gallery + Studio is located in Old Town Chinatown at the Everett Station Lofts, 328 NW Broadway #113.]
