Daily Doodle 4/18/2011
By the way, most Daily Doodles have been for sale at conventions, and at some point they should be added to the Etsy store, but in the meantime, if you see a drawing you like, drop an e-mail to golightly[a]gmail[dot]com or joellejonesart[a]gmail[dot]com and we will try to set you up. This goes for all the daily doodles, so you can click on the "daily doodle" tag to see some of the other ones from previous postings, many of which are still available. (Someone asked on Twitter, so it seemed worth pointing out.)

Spell Checkers, Vol. 2: Sons of a Preacher Man
Jamie S. Rich • Joelle Jones • Nicolas Hitori de
There are two new kids at school. Twin brothers--one straight-laced and buttoned-up, the other a rebel in a leather jacket--and they’ve transferred in with trouble for the Spell Checkers. Jesse finds romance, but for Cynthia, it’s rivalry. She and the good brother compete for student body president, while Kimmie tries to find out who murdered the last one. Dark magic is afoot, as well as dark humor, in the second mystical volume of Oni’s latest hit series.

Stumptown Comics Fest 2011
Stumptown is this weekend, and Jamie S. Rich and I will be signing at the Oni Press booth at these times.
Oni will be bringing all of our books they publish, and we'll have some on hand from our other gigs. I can take a limited number of sketches, so you might want to come at the start of a signing if you really want to get one. $40 for color, one character, $10 for each additional character.
And for the heck of it, here is an old Daily Doodle of Laugh-In era Goldie Hawn:

Madame Xanadu plays cards with Death / Stumptown Preorders
Here is one of my latest commissions, featuring Madame Xanadu and Death from Sandman playing cards on the steps of Madame Xanadu's brownstone.
Now seems as good a time as any to open up preorders on sketches for the Stumptown Comics Fest. This will be especially important because I won't be there full time. Jamie and I will be signing at the Oni Press table, and so I won't have as much time to sit and draw as when I do a full show.
As usual, I lower my rates a little for cons. Prices on the floor will be $40 black-and-white, $80 color (I don't usually do much color at cons, so that especially would be good to preorder). These would be basically for one figure, $10 more per character.
Order now, pick up and pay at the convention. E-mail Jamie at golightly[at]gmail[dot]com. He will keep the list. You can look at the ones I did for Emerald City last month to get an idea of how I work.
Stumptown is in Portland, Oregon, and it is April 16 and 17. Details here.
Tax time is coming up, too, so we might be running a sale here on original art to prepare for the blow. Stay tuned.
